Former President Maithripala Sirisena appeared before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption this morning (13).
He had been summoned to provide a statement regarding an alleged financial fraud that took place at an institution affiliated with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) about 15 years ago.
The former President spent nearly five hours at the Commission and left the premises around 2 p.m. after his statement was recorded.
