Haidar: Stipend delays occur when data is unclear

Must read

Education Adviser Professor Dr Md Haidar Ali Khan has said delays in the disbursement of student stipends usually occur when beneficiary data is incomplete, inconsistent, or unclear. He stressed that ensuring accurate and updated information is essential to guarantee timely payments to eligible students.
Speaking on the issue, Haidar explained that the stipend programme relies on multiple layers of verification, including academic records, bank details, and national identification data. When discrepancies are found—such as mismatched names, incorrect account numbers, or outdated institutional records—the payment process is temporarily halted until corrections are made.
He noted that authorities are working closely with educational institutions and relevant departments to resolve data-related issues and streamline the verification process. Digital systems are also being upgraded to reduce manual errors and speed up cross-checking.
Haidar urged students and guardians to regularly update their personal and banking information through official channels and to promptly respond to any requests for clarification. He added that cooperation from institutions in submitting accurate data on time would significantly reduce delays.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to student welfare, Haidar said measures are being taken to ensure stipends reach beneficiaries as quickly as possible once data issues are resolved.
